Royce Duplessis
Royce Duplessis is a proud New Orleanian who grew up in Pontchartrain Park and graduated from St. Augustine High School. Raised in a family that valued hard work, fairness, and service to others, Royce learned early that every person deserves to be treated with dignity and have someone willing to stand up for them.
He earned his undergraduate degree from Xavier University of Louisiana while supporting himself by working at Mandina’s Restaurant. After Hurricane Katrina, Royce served his community as Chief of Staff to former New Orleans City Council member James Carter before earning his law degree from Howard University School of Law, where he further strengthened his commitment to advocacy, accountability, and justice.
